Income Generation Activities

Income Generation Activities (IGA) under the MegLIFE Project aim to strengthen livelihoods and promote economic resilience in forest-fringe communities. Recognizing that sustainable natural resource management goes hand-in-hand with livelihood improvement, MegLIFE supports community members—especially women and vulnerable groups—through IGAs linked to agriculture, livestock, and eco-enterprises. To ensure financial inclusion, the project promotes Integrated Village Cooperative Societies (IVCS) to help communities mobilize savings and access credit. These initiatives build self-reliance and reduce pressure on forests by providing sustainable income alternatives
