Sustainable forest management

Implementing core forestry operations, including nursery development, soil and water conservation, fire management, and infrastructure development to restore natural resources and improve community conditions.

This component includes planning and implementation of the core forestry operations.The major sub-components will be grass-root planning of forestry operations; implementation of forest working plans for individual forests units; planning and development of village level community nurseries and FED/ FD-ADC managed district level nurseries; soil and water conservation measures; fire management in fire-vulnerable forest areas; development of critical infrastructure for forest management. In order to restore and conserve natural resources within villages, aiming at conserving the environment and biodiversity and improving socio-economic conditions of the community members, a number of activities shall be taken up under this Component.
